Greetings Fellow Offroaders,

The Okanagan Trail Riders Association (OTRA) would like to invite you, your family, and all your friends to come and join us for a night of fun and entertainment at the movies on Wednesday, May 20th at the Grand 10 Cinema!  Check out the movie poster here or for a .jpg version click here.

The first film for our Early show will be "Tougher Than Iron - Enduro at Erzberg 2008".  Filmed in central Austria, Tougher than Iron is a non-stop, in your face account of the Erzberg Rodeo - the toughest single day enduro race in the world. Staring trials and off road racing champions: Taddy Blazusiak (aka the "Polish Nightmare"),  Cyril Dupres, Juha Salminen, Geoff Aaron, Paul Bolton, Chris Birch, Andreas Lettenbicher, Darrly Curtis, and Quinn Cody.

The second film for our late show will be "Red Bull Last Man Standing 2008".  Filmed in Bulcher, Texas this is the film footage of an extreme motocross race like no other.  500 riders will attempt this race, only 100 will qualify, and after a full day and night of riding across countless logs, rocks, boulders, up and down steep crevices, only a handful will finish. Witness Enduro, GNCC and trials stars like David Knight, Taddy Blazusiak, Feoff Aron and many others tackle the course in what was the most shocking finish Last Man Standing has ever seen!

 
Special Bonus:  If both these two great films were not enough, it is the OTRA's honor and privilege to announce that Mr. Jeff Pakosta will kindly be flying in from California to both present each film and then do a brief Q & A with the audience afterwards.  How cool is that????  Over the years there have a number of great films released by Throttle Entertainment on the Enduro at Erzberg and the Last Man Standing, however the 2008 releases are by far their greatest works. In all categories: Dialogue/Narration, Excitement, Humor, Visual Artistry, Music - both of these films are "over the top" jaw dropping works of art. 

Please note that we will be offering advance ticket sales via Pay Pal to secure seats to one or both films up until May 19th via our website at www.okanagantrailriders.com 

Once paid, we will make an entry and hold your tickets for pick up inside the lobby of the Grand 10 Cinema on May 20th.

- Tickets will be sold separately for each film. 
- Ticket Prices for current 2009 OTRA Members: Adult/Youth - $8.00, Child (12 & under) - $6.00. 
- Non Members Adult/Youth - $12.00, Child (12 & under) - $10.00
- 2009 OTRA memberships can also be sold be purchased on our website for $20.00 for singles and $40.00 for families.  Note:  If you are current card carrying member of the SODBC, OTRA memberships (under our reciprocal membership program) can be purchased for half price at $10.00/single and $20.00/family.

In summary, 2009 is going to once again be a busy and exciting year for the OTRA as we continually work towards the development of our 35,000 hectare OHV trail network up at Bear Creek.  Negotiations with various interest groups and stakeholders is an on going challenging process and our bargaining power is directly related to the number of current OTRA members we can legitimately claim to represent. As such we are asking as many people as possible to sign up online and become a current 2009 OTRA member.  Some of our largest goals for this year include building in excess of 100 kilometers of new signed and marked trails, a larger, more RV friendly campsite up at Aspen Flats.  For persons interested in what the OTRA has done to date and what we have planed for the future, we encourage you to come and join us for a memorable night of fun at the movies on May 20th as well as our Open House up at Bear Creek on May 24th.

The Okanagan Trial Riders Association is a non profit society dedicated to preserving your right to ride in the Okanagan Valley and Central Interior. Those rights are not automatic, and are constantly under threat by groups who want you to park your bike forever. Members of the Okanagan Trail Riders Association have been working towards the creation of a top quality riding area in the Bear Creek area for many years. Success is starting to come with the establishment of the Bear Creek RMZ in the Land Resource Management Plan. Much more work is needed to manage this area with the creation of groomed, signed, and mapped trails for your use. If you are not a member of the OTRA, join now.
