Volunteer Project This Saturday at Aspen Flats Trailhead

We just received some picnic tables from John Glaspie, of the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resources,  and will be picking them up on Friday and to put together (they’re big and heavy!) at the Aspen Flats Trailhead on Saturday morning 9am.

If your able to come up and do a couple of hours of work before your Saturday ride (or just would like to come up to put a few hours in) we’d appreciate some extra bodies. Impact guns (if you got one) and non-skilled general labour is the level.

We’d also like to do some Firepit / campsite cleanup to tidy those areas up for the upcoming long weekend campers. If you’d like to help out with this please bring a rake, if you. We’ll have a few up there as well.

Hope to see you Saturday!

Future projects:
We need to put up some fencing alongside the new kids park (to separate it from the road). If you’re interested in helping with this project, when it’s ready, please contact Carol Boyd (250-878-0189 or okdirtbikegalz@shaw.ca)

The Okanagan Trial Riders Association is a non profit society dedicated to preserving your right to ride in the Okanagan Valley and Central Interior. Those rights are not automatic, and are constantly under threat by groups who want you to park your bike forever. Members of the Okanagan Trail Riders Association have been working towards the creation of a top quality riding area in the Bear Creek area for many years. Success is starting to come with the establishment of the Bear Creek RMZ in the Land Resource Management Plan. Much more work is needed to manage this area with the creation of groomed, signed, and mapped trails for your use. If you are not a member of the OTRA, join now.
