About the Okanagan Trail Riders Association

This is the web site of the Okanagan Trail Riders Association, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts who are protecting your ability to ride in the Okanagan Valley. Recent efforts by club members have secured your access to riding areas that were disappearing fast! The Bear Creek riding area is now designated in the LRMP as motorized recreation. Without your club at work, this would not have happened, and there could easily be a ban on riding. Look at the maps section for more details.

The Okanagan Trail Riders Association wants to work with others to ensure that there will always be good, well maintained, safe riding areas for you and future generations of riders. Club members have been working to improve this riding area, and have extensive plans in place to turn the Bear Creek area into a showpiece on trail management.

In the past year, the OTRA has worked with other stakeholders, including the Lakeview Irrigation District, the Regional District of the Central Okanagan, The Ministry of Tourism, Sport, and Culture, our local MLA, Rick Thorpe, and others to ensure that the views of our recreational community are heard.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars is being spent in the Bear Creek Motorized Recreation area, and millions more is in the planning stage. Without any doubt, this area will become one of the finest motorized trail networks in the world.
